Madhuri dixit, an Indian actor who has been known for her roles in Hum Aapke Hing Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is among the most popular Indian actors. The actress began her career in the 1980s and came to popularity with her role in the film Tezaab where she starred alongside an established actor Anil Kapoor. In the following film, she was a part of Aamir as part of Dil. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dancing at a young age. In her early years, when she first started to act as a child actress, most films she produced were not successful. However, she eventually achieved success and went on to become one of the leading actors in the Indian film business. Following her wedding ceremony, she took a brief absence from acting prior to returning. Recently, she had an integral character in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the struggle of women in India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards. Of these she's received 8. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian prize awarded to civilians in India is bestowed to Dixit. Also, she has earned a name for social activism.
